FDC UTILITIES, INC.
Harnessing Energy. Empowering Communities.
The establishment of FDC Utilities, Inc. (FDCUI) marks the Filinvest group’s re-entry into the power market. FDC has accumulated experience in the power industry since 1995 through the ownership of East Asia Power Corporation and, eventually, the Cebu Private Power Corporation in 1998 until 2000.
As the company brings electricity to potential growth circles in the Philippines, it endeavors to further enhance community development while enhancing synergy among the subsidiaries of the Filinvest group.
The firm successfully developed the FDC Misamis 3 x 135 MW Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) Coal Thermal Plant located in Misamis Oriental. The power plant has a total capacity of 405 megawatts which greatly contributes to the stability of the Mindanao grid.
In addition, FDCUI was awarded its Retail Electricity Supplier (RES) license in 2017.
Furthermore, the company recently signed a joint venture agreement with ENGIE Services Philippines for the incorporation of the Filinvest-ENGIE Renewable Energy Enterprise, Inc. (FREE) aimed at pursuing renewable energy projects.
FDCUI’s over-all strategic goal is to achieve sustained growth through the next years and therefore strives to put-up multiple power generation projects reaching 1,000 megawatts across the Philippines.
